Springcart Farm is a family-owned farm that has been in operation since the early 1900s. Springcart was originally part of Wellanbah a 3600 acre farm in the Limbri Weabonga valley. Wellanbah was established in the late 1800's by James Blaxland the grandson of the famous explorer Greg Blaxland. James moved to Wellanbah with his family to raise them in the old style farming tradition the photo on the left shows James and his children circa 1920 with their trusty Clydesdale. After James passed away Wellanbah was passed down to his son Greg - named after his great grandfather. Greg farmed Wellanbah until well into his 80's on his own and still mustering on horse back until he could no longer work his beloved farm. Greg did not have children of his own so unfortunately he could not pass it down through his own family. The farm went to auction and was bought by Grant and Leigh Ann Sweetman. The Sweetmans had been visiting and helping Greg on Wellanbah for many years and he considered the Sweetman kids to be like his own. Greg was so pleased to see his beloved Wellanbah now in the Sweetman family as he knew and trusted them to carry on farming in the traditional fashion he taught them. Wellanbah was sub divided  between Grant and Leigh Ann in 2008 and Springcart was established. Grant and his wife Purna continued farming, establishing new paddocks and buliding a magnificent 2 story home until 2023 when unfortunately due to health they had to sell. Keeping the farm in the family Grant and Purna sold the farm to Grant's sister Sara, her husband Paul and their son Brayden. Springcart is also very much loved by their other children Tristan, Lockie and Caileigh who often visit to enjoy the lifestyle, property and lend a hand. In 2022 Tristan married his childhood sweetheart Brittany here, creating even more memories of this wonderful place we call home.
